Dr William Wood is a Tutorial Fellow in Theology and Associate Professor of Philosophical Theology in Oriel College and the University of Oxford.  His work ranges widely across philosophical theology, medieval theology, and the history of Christian doctrine more generally.  He recently published a book for Oxford University Press, Blaise Pascal on Duplicity, Sin and the Fall: The Secret Instinct. This work is part of a broader interest in philosophical and theological accounts of sin and self-deception in the Augustinian tradition.  He is also engaged in a project, funded by the John Templeton Foundation, that compares the methods and norms of analytic philosophical theology with the methods and norms of the academic discipline of religious studies.
